Great Escape: The Milleridge Inn

A jaunt out to Jericho, to one of Long Island's most historic homes.

If you've never visited the Milleridge Inn on Thanksgiving weekend, you're missing out.

One of Long Island's most cherished and favorite restaurants, the Milleridge Inn and village features the original buildings, dating back to 1672.

Some highlights at the inn include the grand mansion, a corner stone of local history and tradition, and the Historic Milleridge Village.

Still, it's more than just a landmark-fine dining restaurant.

In fact, the Milleridge offers some of the quaintest shops around, with an old fashioned bakery that cooks up one mean apple pie.

And folks that visit there this weekend will also get their chance to meet Tom Turkey and friends, who will be handing out free candy, balloons and cider to all they pass.

So avoid all that Black Friday madness with a relaxing afternoon at one of Long Islands most unique tourists attractions.

Just be sure to hit up the true heart of Milleridge Village—the Bread and Jam Shoppe—and take home some of their creative confections.

The Milleridge Inn is located at 585 North Broadway in Jericho New York.
