Great Escape

Hop aboard this local cruise ship and enjoy sight seeing like no other.

Who says you have to travel to Hawaii or California to watch whales and dolphins swim before your eyes?

Now through Sept. 9, you can experience the wonders of these amazing mammals as part of the New York Whale and Dolphin Watching cruises.

Catch a ride on the New York Beach Ferry’s American Princess Fleet and spend the afternoon sailing the Atlantic Ocean.

The narrated adventure cruise departs every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at noon from Riis Landing, Breezy Point in Rockaway Beach.

Starting Sept. 9, the cruise line will be sailing Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at the same time. It could run through October, depending on the temperature and whether the mammals stick out the season.

To fully enjoy your adventure, the Watchers recommend bring a camera, video camera and binoculars. There is a cash bar on board and snacks are available for purchase. No coolers will be permitted.

Adults will pay $40 for the day, while seniors get on for $35 and children, ages 12 and under, pay $25. All cruses are subject to cancellation due to weather conditions.
