Where/When: Alley Pond Environmental Center on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 10:30 a.m.

Why Go?: Learn how to communicate using basic hand signals in this family-friendly workshop for adults and children 8 years and up.

Pricing: Individual adults, $15; Families, $25

Why Go?: Celebrate the Year of the Rabbit at a festival in the epicenter of Queens' growing Asian community.

: Alley Pond Environmental Center on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Why Go?: Learn about constellations like the Orion Nebular and the Pleiades Star Cluster in a program that combines indoor instruction and outdoor observation using a telescope.

Pricing: $10 for adult members; $12 for adult non-members; $7 for youngsters age 7-12. 

Where/When: Queens Botanical Garden on Sunday, Feb. 13 at noon.
Why Go?
: This unique introduction to composting includes a gift of a heart-shaped composting cookie for use on your plants. Pricing: $5

John Bowne High School Theatre in Flushing on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go?: Celebrate the Chinese New Year with an award-winning performing group in an event organized by the Sino-American Culture & Arts Foundation.

Pricing: Tickets range from $15-$25; VIP tickets are $50.
