Fourth of July Events in Queens

Find out where to celebrate Independence Day in the borough.

This year’s options for Fourth of July events are slightly more limited, but there are several Independence Day celebrations taking place in the borough and the city.

The borough’s biggest fireworks display – Central Astoria Development Corporation’s annual show at Astoria Park – already took place on June 25.

So, your best bet could be to view the fireworks show at Citi Field on July 3 when the Mets take on the Phillies.

Even if you don’t have tickets to the game, you should be able to easily see the fireworks from the parking lot at the nearby Home Depot, which is north of Northern Boulevard.

On July 4, there will be an Independence Day celebration along Sanford Avenue between Main Street and Union Street in Queens Village.

If you are a member at the Douglas Manor Beach, the Douglaston Yacht Squadron hosts an annual 4th of July blowout and barbecue. For more information, visit the yacht squadron’s website.

Macy’s will hold its July 4th fireworks display over the Hudson River off the west side of Manhattan.

The show was previously held off the East River, but was moved to the Hudson in 2009.
