Gusts could reach up to 50 mph later today

Good morning, Little Neck! To start your Tuesday, we've got a high wind warning in effect for our area. The city's Department of Buildings urges all builders, contractors, and property owners to secure their construction sites and buildings against winds expected to reach 50 mph later today.

1. It's the Tuesday side of the street's turn to get badly-needed attention from the Department of Sanitation. Remember to get up early to dig out your car, or risk getting a ticket.

2. Did you know that service stations that sell motor oil are required by the city to accept up to five gallons a day per person for free? And that you can save the $5 surcharge on new batteries by turning your old one in at one of five special DSNY collection sites across the city? Find out about these tips and more here.

3. Later today, we'll have the 411 on the latest Little Neck eatery to shut its doors.

4. A special Healing Mass will take place at the Immaculate Conception Center at Saint Anastasia's in Douglaston.

5. At today's  at North Shore LIJ, atttendees are encouraged to share experiences and feelings in regard to diagnosis and treatment plans. A light dinner will be served.
