End of the World Playlist

You don't need an actual Armageddon to enjoy these apocalyptic nuggets.

For those of you concerned that the beginning of the next b'ak'tun in the Mayan's Long Count calendar on Dec. 21 spells the end of the world - relax.

Patch has assembled a short playlist of songs that should ease your tension and help you make it through the day.

Take a deep breath and listen to these five Bayside-Douglaston Patch Armageddon musical selections. And if there are some apocalyptic tunes you prefer, add them in our comment section below.

The Final Countdown - Europe

99 Luftballoons - Nena

When the Man Comes Around - Johnny Cash

It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) - R.E.M.

The End - The Doors

How about including another "The End" by The Beatles from the Abbey Road album? It may not be true to the theme of the end of the world, but to many who appreciate the elite of the musical world, their version of "The End" was in fact the end of the greatest contribution to the world of music - it was the last recorded song by the Fab Four together.

How about "They're Coming to Take me Away? Would that be appropriate?
