Catch Up on the Stories That Took Place In Your Community

There were plenty of news stories in Douglaston this past week amid the holiday mania. 

Douglaston Patch ran a follow-up on the long-awaited Fairway Market as well as meetings held by Community Board 11 and the 111th Precinct Community Council.

Of course, there were some holiday stories. The Bayside Hills Civic Association and the Douglaston Village Chamber of Commerce held their tree lighting ceremonies. And Patch provided some stories with hints on where to eat and which events to attend during the holiday season.


On Monday, we posted stories on the Bayside Hills Civic's tree lighting and St. Anastasia's Giving Tree.


Community Board 11 focused on litter removal and improvements to schools at its meeting. Douglaston Patch provided an update on the median at Little Neck Parkway.


111th Precinct Capt. Ron Leyson discusses crime statistics at the precinct's community council meeting.


Fairway Market has an update on the chain store it plans to open at the Douglaston Plaza Shopping Center.


On Friday, we posted a list of events that are taking place in Douglaston, Little Neck and Bayside throughout the holiday season.


On Saturday, we stayed in the holiday spirit and posted a story on restaurants that will remain open in northeast Queens on Christmas Day.


Today, the Udalls Cove Preservation Committee's Walter Mugdan honors the memory of Arthur Kelley, who died last week.
