Douglaston: Week In Review

Read the Top Stories Taking Place In Your Community

Douglaston was given a reprieve from winter weather during this relatively quiet week in the community.

The first part of the week was slower for stories, but news of Mayor Michael Bloomberg's plan to cut thousands of city teachers and an environmental report from the League of Conservation Voters on Queens' congressional members broke later in the week.

Also, Council members Mark Weprin, D-Oakland Gardens, and James Gennaro, D-Fresh Meadows, held a town hall on water meter rates.
