It was a busy week in Douglaston.

State Sen. Tony Avella, D-Bayside,  proposed a bill that would create term limits for state legislators, while Community Board 11 members complained of recent peaks in their water bills and a 7 Eleven store along Northern Boulevard was robbed.

Some Community Board 11 members said their water bills have increased following the recent installation of new electronic meters. 

Wednesday
Douglaston Patch launched a series of new features aimed at local parents, including Frugal Family,  Grab and Go Kids Planner, Whiz Kid, Parent Talk, Great Escape.

Thursday
Today's features included Get Out: Weekend Planner, House Hunt, Viewfinder, Patch Picks and Great Escape.

Friday
Community District Education Council 26 President Rob Caloras says that a proposal to turn P.S. 188's  Gifted and Talented into a citywide program will be put on hold for one year. 

Weekend
A Queens man was convicted for robbing an Oakland Gardens nail salon, while state Sens. Tony Avella and Toby Stavisky criticized assessed valuations for co-ops in Queens.
