It was a week of ceremony in Douglaston.

The community honored the memory of Thomas Gaines II, a charter member of the Udalls Cove Preservation Committee. State Sen. Tony Avella was sworn in during a district event at Queensborough Community College.

Douglaston Patch launched a series of new features on Thursday, including a photo gallery of homes for sale and apartments for rent in the community as well as a weekend guide for events in northeast Queens.
