Douglaston Little Neck Library Unveils September Roster

Programs include a career development workshop, a book discussion and AARP driver safety courses.

The Douglaston Little Neck Public Library will offer a variety of programs next month, including its ongoing knitting and crocheting club as well as AARP driver safety courses and computer classes.

The northeast Queens branch is located at 249-01 Northern Blvd.

The library will host computer basics classes at 10 a.m. on Mondays, beginning Sept. 12.

The site’s knitting and crocheting club will meet every Monday after Labor Day at 4 p.m. The program, operated by Helen Bodner, will teach adults, children and teens how to knit and crochet. Participants must bring their own yarn and needles.

Space is limited for the club, so preregistration is required.

The library will offer its Picture Book Time program at 1:30 p.m. every Thursday, beginning Sept. 15.

The class, which is aimed at ages 3-1/2 to 5, will incorporate singing, dancing, storytelling and crafts. Space is limited for the free program, so preregistration is required.

The branch will hold two AARP driver safety courses on Sept. 9 and 16 at 10:30 a.m. For more information, call the library at 718-225-8414.

On Sept. 21, the library will host a class known as Anna’s Book Discussion at 11:30 a.m.

It will also offer Finding Work You Love on Sept. 29 at 6 p.m. At the workshop, certified life and career coach Gregory Allen will share techniques to help attendees figure out how to pursue their passions.
