Douglaston Green Market to Host Yoga Class, Cooking Demonstration

On Sept. 16, Elaine Kantanas will lead an outdoor yoga class at the market from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free class, which is appropriate for all ages, will be held on the grassy knoll alongside the market behind the Newgate Farms tent.

Attendees should bring their own water bottle and mat.

Shoppers at the market will learn how to make tote bags out of old T-shirts during an event led by Dana Malave on Sept. 23.

On Oct. 7, chef Alex Privilegi, of Douglaston's , will host a cooking demonstration.

The market's newest offerings include winter squash, pears, kale, apple pie, cider and other fall favorites, according to market Manager Ashley Rafalow.

The green market is located every Sunday in the traffic circle of Douglaston's .
