Bites Nearby: Urbn Burgr

A new comer to northeast Queens Food circuit that is serving up fresh burgers, sides, salads, and more.

This week's Bite will likely become a fan favorite among Patch readers and with good reason.

Urbn Burgr—located at 39-35 Bell Boulevard—has some of the best burgers around!

But beyond burgers, Urbn Burgr is also serving up some fresh flavors with their tempura battered fried zucchini, and their feta fries (hand cut fries topped with Greek feta cheese).

Plus, Urbn Burgr boasts one of the finest burger menus in town, which runs the gamut from savory to spicy with the Urbn Kick Burgr (topped with pepper jack, jalapeño and chipotle peppers) and the always smooth Red Label (real scotch infusion ground beef with caramelized onions).

But it's perhaps the many dipping sauces at Urbn Burgr that are the big draw here—like the Chipotle aioli, jalapeño ketchup, and horseradish mayo, just to name a few.

Some other sure to suffice crowd pleasers are the BBQ griller (grilled chicken with caramelized onions and BBQ sauce), the aptly named Bell Blvd. Burgr (with melted cheddar, bacon, onion strings), and the classic Bison Burgr (with melted cheddar, bacon and BBQ sauce)—served on either brioche, a multigrain bun, club role, or in a wrap.

Then for those looking to build their own burger, Urbn Burgr also offers a premium selection of toppings like their apple wood smoked bacon, jalapeño pepper avocado and chipotle peppers.

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

Unfortunately, according to the Douglas Manor Association, the fresh fruit and vegetable market willRead More NOT return this year. No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
