Bay Terrace Black Friday Guide

The 411 on all the deals available at Bayside's only outdoor shopping mall.

Good Morning Bayside and welcome to yet another Black Friday!!

A tradition dating back to the late 19th century and early 20th century, Black Friday (i.e. the day after Thanksgiving) has come to be the official start of the holiday season with sales on just about everything.

From clothing to electronics, there's virtually nothing that isn't marked down on Black Friday.

And this year, some merchants at Bay Terrace Shopping Center have really stepped up their game, with some places offering up to 60 percent off select store items.

So here's a list of store hours and sales taking place at Bay Terrace, today.

The Children's Place
Hours: 4 a.m. to whenever 
Sales: Everything 30 percent off until 2 p.m.


Hours: 4:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sales: Most items in the store will be 40 percent off.


Hours: 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sales: Select store items will be 20 to 60 percent off throughout the day.


Hours: 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. 
Sales:  Everything will be 40 percent off until noon, and then 30 percent off until close.


Hours: 5 am to 10 p.m.
Sales: Fifty percent off the entire store.

Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Sales: Scratch off sale with up to 40 percent off your entire bill.

Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sales: Half off everything until the afternoon, and then 40 percent off everything until close.

Carters
Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sales: The whole store will be 50 percent off all day, with an additional 10 percent off until noon. Also, fleece shirts as well as Melissa and Doug Puzzles will be just 5 dollars, while supplies last.

Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sales: Buy two get one free on all earrings, as well as winter items buy one get one half off. Then all boots will be marked down 30 percent and hand bags will be 30 to 50 percent off throughout the day.


Hours: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sales: To be announced on Black Friday.


Hours: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sales: To be announced on Black Friday.

The World Kitchen
Hours: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sales: To be announced on Black Friday.

Hours: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sales: Select in store sale items, plus the release of the new Retro Three and Tim Duncan sneakers.

Hours: 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Sales: To be announced on Black Friday.

Hours: 10 a.m. 9 p.m.
Sales: Additional 50 percent off all marked down items in the store.

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

Unfortunately, according to the Douglas Manor Association, the fresh fruit and vegetable market willRead More NOT return this year. No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
