On Thursday, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced the resignation of Deputy Mayor of Operations Stephen Goldsmith, who is stepping down after just 14 months to return to the private sector, the New York Times reports. Bloomberg appointed Caswell F. Holloway, who currently serves as the Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection, as Goldsmith's replacement.
5. Today is expected to be rather pleasant weather-wise, with a high of only 82 degrees.
