Weekend starts off on a good note as the federal government avoids shutdown

Welcome to the weekend, Little Neck. On the national front, lawmakers inked a deal on the 2011 budget at the eleventh hour, sidestepping a shutdown that could have kept some federal workers off the job.

So in order to celebrate our elected representatives's renewed commitment to keeping things running, we thought we'd pack your 5 Things this weekend with as many happenings, goings-on and other to-do's as possible.
