Getting a jump on Easter Weekend

Good morning, Little Neck! Today is a day of reflection for many Christians, as believers mark the day on which Jesus Christ died on the cross. Locally, there are in terms of religious services. Also, the Long Island Railroad will run more trains during the afternoon rush hour along the Port Washington line for commuters looking to get a jump on Easter Weekend.

Here are your 5 Things for this Good Friday:

1. Yes, call it comeback. The Amazins beat the Houston Astros 9-1 last night in an attempt to salvage what has been a lackluster start to the season.

2. Meanwhile, football fever is revving up again — even with five months left to go before the first kickoff of the 2011-12 season. Jets and Giants fans are looking to next week's three-day draft, to be held this year at Radio City Music Hall. 

3. The Knicks will tip off Game 3 of their playoff series against the Boston Celtics at 7 p.m. at the Garden tonight, hoping to reverse a 2-0 deficit.

4. On Thursday, Mayor Michael Bloomberg released an update of PlaNYC, with 132 new initiatives and more than 400 specific milestones for Dec. 31, 2013, including the phase-out of the dirtiest heating fuels. 

5. Alternate side parking rules are suspended for Good Friday. Parking meters still have to be paid.
