Alternate Side Parking Suspended

Drivers will not need to move their cars for Ash Wednesday, but all other parking rules will be in effect.

Alternate side parking has been suspended on Feb. 22 in observance of Ash Wednesday, according to the city's Department of Transportation.

Parking meters and all other regulations will be in effect.

In the calendar of Western Christianity, Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent and occurs 46 days before Easter. The holiday marks the start of a 40-day period of time during which Jesus Christ fasted and prayed in the desert before beginning his public ministry.
