5 Things You Need to Know Today

The weekend is near, Douglaston. 

Make sure to drop by the Douglaston Community Theatre Board's play, "Independence," this weekend at Zion Episcopal Church. And keep an eye out today for our story on it.

This afternoon, we will post our latest edition of Sold!, which is a slideshow of photos of homes recently sold in the community.

On Saturday, I will post my predictions for the Academy Awards, which will air 8 p.m. on ABC this Sunday. Several films in the running this year were shot in Queens, including one filmed in Douglaston.

On Monday, we'll put up Walter Mugdan's latest installment of "The Conservation Conversation."
