Good morning, Douglaston.

Patch has launched a new blogging component known as Local Voices on all of its sites. We'd like to encourage Douglaston's residents, community leaders and business owners to take part in this new venture.

Today, we will post an update on a project to fix up Shore Road. Douglaston residents have long complained about unsafe driving conditions on a deteriorated stretch of the roadway.

President Barack Obama will visit Ground Zero today. Keep an eye out for our coverage this afternoon.
