Good morning, Douglaston and welcome to the start to the middle of the week!

And what a week it’s been, from volatile markets around the globe to a derailed NJ Transit train causing serious here at home, there never seems to be a dull moment.

But by noon today, we’ll official be past the halfway point to what’s turning out to be a formidable week, not to mention one day closer to Douglaston’s Community Day extravaganza, which is going to be held in front of  on August 13—more on this at 2 p.m.

1. Registration for the Garden Art Studio’s continues, starting at 10 a.m. today. 

2. Papazzio Restaurant in Bayside will host its at 6 p.m.

3. Anyone thinking about filling up their gas tank today should check back with Douglaston Patch at 9 a.m., to find out exactly where to find the best price in town.

4. Then at noon, we honor another local Whiz Kid, who has taken the initiative to learn how to read, write and speak Korean.
