Queens residents who have noticed the increase in air pollution and noise level caused by jets flying low at less than one to two minutes interval for hours and days over our residential area are invited to participate in a rally organized on Dec. 15 to express the opposition to the FAA decision to permanently implement these new flight patterns over northeast Queens Queens.

Noise levels created by the jets flying continuously and very low over our homes cause damage to hearing. Airplane exhaust creates damaging tiny particles that when repeatedly inhaled have been linked to cardiovascular diseases and respiratory conditions like lung cancer.
To improve La Guardia Airport efficiency and to save fuel and accommodate more flights, these new flight procedures have been implemented. This is at the cost of our health and quality of life. We should not accept this decision.
