Wild Cherry Yogurt Bar Opens at Little Neck Plaza

Store offers 12 flavors, all of which are kosher, and more than 40 toppings.

A new yogurt bar with 12 flavors that are all kosher and more than 40 toppings debuted last week at Little Neck Plaza.

Wild Cherry, a self-service yogurt shop located at 254-29 Horace Harding Parkway, opened July 17 in the site formerly occupied by Exit 32 Nail Salon, which moved three doors down.

Daniel Navi, who owns both Wild Cherry and neighboring Little Neck Wine and Liquor, said he decided to open a second shop in the plaza to fill a community need.

“The only thing missing in the plaza was a place to get desert,” he said. “A lot of people were asking for one. So, this is a necessity for the neighborhood.”

All of the shop’s products are kosher. Its 12 flavors include classic chocolate, alpine vanilla, cake batter, pistachio, original tart, non-fat no sugar coffee, strawberry, raspberry sorbet, cookies ‘n’ crème, wild cherry, dulce de leche and peanut butter.

The store also offers more than 40 toppings, such as rainbows nonpareil, chocolate chips, brownie bits, fudge, cereals, graham crackers, crushed candy and several fruits.

The yogurt bar will be self-service, so patrons will be able to weigh their purchases by ounce.

Mike Guerrieri, a manager, said the store would also likely expand its selections.

“We are constantly getting new flavors based on customer requests,” he said.

He said visitors can also try more than one flavor at a time because the store’s machines can swirl flavors.

“I hope people will like our products and we appreciate the neighborhood’s support,” Navi said. “We’ll use the best quality ingredients. We’ve had a good reaction so far.”

Wild Cherry’s current hours are noon to 10 p.m. on weekdays. The store stays open until 11 p.m. on weekends.
