Where To Mail Your Taxes

Where will you take your taxes if you're running later than 5?

The Bayside at 5p.m. on the nose today, tax day.

If you're keen on using USPS, the Flushing location at 4165 Main Street is open until 8p.m. It's a good option perhaps if you're taking the LIRR from Manhattan, and can stop in Flushing on the way home.

, at 4206a Bell Blvd., is open until 7p.m., which are their regular hours. 

There's also a FedEx drop-off location at the S, which is open until 7p.m.

FedEx has several other drop-off locations in the area, but those two locations are opened the latest.

Or you can file your Federal, New York State or taxes online. New York City income tax is collected from New York State.

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
