What Should Replace Tiger Schulmann's and Verizon?

Two storefronts within a block of each other on Bell Boulevard are currently vacant after Tiger Schulmann's Mixed Martial Arts moved to a new locale and the Verizon store closed.

Tiger Schulmann's recently relocated from 38-46 Bell Blvd. to 215-15 Northern Blvd. Its vacant 3,500-square-foot former site is currently vacant.

And the former Verizon Wireless store, located at 39-12 Bell Blvd., remains vacant after the shop closed late last summer.

Patch wants to know: What would you like to see replace these two businesses? What is Bayside's commercial strip currently missing?

The premises are not big enough to support a full service food market.

Do we really need another restaurant on Bell Boulevard? Five Guys is in Bay Terrace, 5 minutes away. If not a Trader Joe's because the space is too small, then perhaps a market that sells organic products and healthy foods, sort of like a Whole Foods, but on a smaller scale. The space is not too small for that type of place.

I still think that a Key Food would be better for the people who live in the area. The prices are fairly reasonable. There is usually a great variety.

Key Food is a bit pricey for a supermarket. When they have sales its good but otherwise, for the Bayside area, Foodtown and Waldbaums seem to have better sales. Trader Joes has some great, organic and healthy items at very good prices, as well as gourmet and specialty things you don't find in the other markets. Fairway is nice too, but a bit more pricey than Trader Joes, but their selection is great at Fairway.
