Northeast Queens residents with a sweet tooth have cause for celebration following the recent reopening of Sweet Adele's on Bell Boulevard.
The shop, located at 73-24 Bell Blvd. in Bayside, serves candy, home-baked goods, ice cream and bubble tea.
Sweet Adele's is owned by Cindy and Simon Wu, who emigrated from Taiwan in the late 1970s and opened the store in 1985. The couple now lives in Little Neck.
"This is the American dream," Simon Wu said. "If you work hard, you can be successful."
Councilman Mark Weprin, D-Oakland Gardens, said the sweet shop is a neighborhood fixture.
“Sweet Adele’s is a neighborhood gem," the councilman said. "Cindy and Simon’s fresh products are what make this place so popular and special. Sweet Adele’s caters to the booming and diverse residents of the community."
