Stop Work Order Lifted at Future GNC Site on Bell Boulevard

City allows work to commence at former Lucky Bell Store site.

A stop work order at a future GNC store site on Bell Boulevard has been lifted.

The site, located at 42-09 Bell Blvd. in the former Lucky Bell Store locale, received the order on Nov. 13 after an inspector found that work was being performed in an "unsafe or dangerous manner."

An architect for the site told state Sen. Tony Avella that the violation referred to another project taking place on the building's second floor and had nothing to do with the GNC store.

On Dec. 6, the city's Department of Buildings lifted the stop work order.

Currently, approval has been granted by the city for interior renovation on all three of the building's floors, but not the cellar.
