Station Realty Hosts Expo in Douglaston

Event Includes Specialists for Credit Repair and Mortgages As Well As Easel Boards of Available Homes and Co-ops

The staff of Station Realty held a real estate expo at its 235th Street office yesterday, drawing prospective homebuyers to take a look at properties in Douglaston and Little Neck.

“We have lots of beautiful properties and lots of information to help people along in the process,” said Dorothy Matinale, broker for Station Realty.

In addition to easel boards featuring private houses and co-ops, there were booklets of both real estate and banking information, handouts, raffle prizes and experts in nearly every facet of the process of buying a home.

Mortgage specialist Paul Papoutsakis brought his team from Wells Fargo Bank’s Astoria branch to the office at 42-32 235th St. to smooth the occasionally bumpy path to home purchase.

“This seminar is a great event for the individual buyer,” he said.

His team included CPAs “home stagers” and a credit repair specialist as well as a representative from New York City Business Solutions.

Barbara Feldman, an interior designer for more than 15 years who minored in architecture, was on-hand to also serve as a moving manager.

“I branched out into home staging a few years ago,” she said.

Although she finds much of her work in the Williston Park area, she has her eye on Douglaston.

“It’s beautiful here – very quaint,” she said. “It’s a nice, tight community.”

While the front of the office was a beehive of conversation and activity, the serious business of working with aspiring homeowners was conducted in the comfortable private office in the back.

“This galleria of homes is just great – it should help us spring into summer,” Papoutsakis said before he was directed to the back for a sit-down with a young couple looking to make Douglaston their new address.
