Smoking Aces Bistro opened Monday at the former Strawberry's Sports Grill site in Douglaston.
The eatery, located at 42-15 235th St., will be open from 4 p.m. to midnight in Monday through Thursday and noon to midnight on weekends.
Smoking Aces' menu includes barbecue, sandwiches, salads, chili and a variety of sides, such as macaroni and cheese and creamed spinach.
Brian Tolisano, the eatery's chef and general manager, said Smoking Aces has brought back some of the staff from Strawberry's, which closed in October.
"We are focusing mainly on barbecue, but we are taking suggestions," he said of the restaurant's dining options. "The menu is not concrete."
Tolisano said Douglaston residents have been dropping by the eatery for months to see when it would debut.
"People are happy we are opening," he said. "Ever since we started renovating, people have been walking in to see when we were opening."
