Smoking Aces Bistro is expected to open on June 1 in the former Strawberry's Sports Grill site on 235th Street in Douglaston, local business owners said.
The owners of the new barbecue eatery could not be reached for comment. But several neighboring store owners said they were originally told that the bistro would open in early May, but will now debut in June.
Strawberry's, which was owned by former Mets slugger Darryl Strawberry, was closed in October.
Smoking Aces Bistro will open in its former site, located at 42-15 235th St.
