Take Some Time to Relax at These Queens Spas

Who doesn’t need a break? To help avoid the hassles of finding that perfect spa, we compiled a list of some of the best in the area.

Spa Castle

131-10 11th Avenue at 131st Street, College Point

It’s like a serene Disney World for adults. The five-story spa combines Asian saunas with European spa treatments, from massage to reflexology. Spa Castle also includes a number of pools, including year-round heated outdoor baths and waterfalls to wash away all that stress.

Ascend Day Spa

82-62 Austin Street, Kew Gardens

Get your nails done, go for a facial or try a number of different massages. Ascend offers specials such as the Four Palm Massage - two therapists working on your knots at once. Or, try the Hot Lava Shell Massage, in which a real shell from the South Pacific is used to detoxify your body and mind. Another highlight is the Migraine Tension Massage, which is a scalp massage using aromatherapy oils to wipe away stress. Apparently, it also encourages hair growth.

Euphoria

38-15 Northern Boulevard, Astoria

This spa combines hair treatments, facials and relaxation. Try a traditional Swedish Massage or body wrap, which can be anything from a French Green Clay Wrap to the Seaweed Body Wrap, a treatment using sea algae to stimulate the skin. Euphoria also offers the Platza Treatment – an ancient Russian massage done in a sauna using oak leaves.

Forest Hills Spa

59-21 Calloway Street, Forest Hills

The Forest Hills Spa provides the ultimate Russian bathhouse experience, but minus the trip to Europe. Enjoy an enormous swimming pool, Jacuzzi, cold plunge pool and modern rain showers. Then, spend some time in one of the saunas and sign up for an authentic Platza oak leaf treatment. Other options include a one-hour massage or black mud treatment.

Coco Spa

133-10 41st Road, Flushing

Get a full body massage for $30 at this small boutique. The spa also offers foot reflexology. Coco is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
