The US Postal Service is seeking input on a plan to close their mail processing center in Whitestone.
The Queens, NY Processing and Distrubution Center would be closed, and consolidated with the Brooklyn, NY P&D Center.
The measure will save the Postal Service $30,823,926, annually, according to an announcement sent out by the USPS.
It would result in 702 people losing their jobs, according to the same announcement.
A public hearing is to be held at this coming Friday, Dec. 2 at 7:30p.m., so locals can air their concerns or support for the measure. Patch will to cover it.
