Event aimed to encourage businesses to make their products in Queens.

U.S. Rep. Grace Meng, D-Flushing, will hold an event this coming weekend to showcase American-owned companies based in Queens.

The congresswoman’s Make It In America expo will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 28 at Glendale’s Shops at Atlas Park, located at 80-00 Cooper Ave.

Businesses will display their products at tables during the event as well as hand out information on their companies.

“Queens is home to a burgeoning small business community and this expo will provide borough entrepreneurs with a platform to display their talents and wares,” said Meng, who sits on the House’s Small Business Committee. “I hope that through events like this, local American-owned companies will continue to grow and prosper well into the future.”

During the event, Meng will also discuss her efforts on the Small Business Committee to help create jobs and encourage more companies to make their products in the United States.

There is no charge for businesses to take part in the expo and admission is free to the public.

So far, more than two dozen Queens businesses are expected to take part in the event.
