It's (Mostly) All Greek to Aegea
Douglaston Restaurant Serves Up a Wide Array of Mediterranean Style Dishes
Douglaston has a bevy of pizzerias, Italian and Asian fusion restaurants but very few options for aficionados of Greek food.
This makes Aegea Gyros & Pizza, located at 242-05 Northern Blvd., a one-of-a-kind in the neighborhood.
"We try our best to keep customers happy, and we do it with fresh food, fresh ingredients, a great staff, and fun atmosphere," said Michael Sackos, Aegea's owner.

Named after the Aegean Sea that surrounds Sackos' home island of Chios, Aegea has served Douglaston residents for seven years. The restaurant offers all manner of Greek foods from classic Gyro platters to mouth–watering Mousaka. You can also grab some traditional Avegolomono, which is Greek chicken soup.
"Most of the recipes here are originally from my Yaya," Sackos said, referring to his grandmother.

In addition to Greek cuisine, Aegea also offers a variety of burgers, pizzas, and wraps, such as the Douglaston wrap–fried chicken, which includes American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard.
Aegea's pizzas vary from chicken pies to baked ziti and penne ala vodka pies. Customers will not pay more than $20 for an individual pie.
The restaurant, which delivers, is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
