A new Indian restaurant known Masala Box will open soon at the former Gold Star Diner site on Bell Boulevard.
The eatery recently obtained its liquor license and will likely open in the coming weeks, said Lyle Sclair, executive director of the Bayside Business Improvement District.
"They told around this time last year that they'd be open now," Sclair said.
Gold Star, located at 42-02 Bell Blvd., closed in December 2011.
