Sweat Off the Stress to Help Relax Your Mind and Muscles with Hot Yoga

Feeling tired, stressed or tense? If so, you can heat things up with Daniela Crocchiola at the Douglaston School of Music and Art in a class of Hot Vinyasa, Core/Bar Fusion or Warm Power Yoga.

Every Tuesday, Daniela transforms bodies a 55-minute workout combining ballet, toning, Pilates, strength training, yoga, cardio and core conditioning in her Warm Bar Flow Fusion class. This class not only helps to burn off calories, but also improves flexibility and balance while carving core muscles.

On Wednesdays, Daniela ups the bar with a rigorous 75-minute Hot Vinyasa class, which unifies breathing and movement. This class has been known to improve concentration, patience, focus and state of mind -  all while toning muscles. The heat in the room helps relax muscles, improve flexibility and purify the body of toxins through sweat.

The Warm Bar Flow Fusion class meets from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday, while the Hot Vinyasa class meets from 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Pre-registration is required the day before each class.

Yoga classes are $15 per class or six classes for $75, 11 classes for $120, 20 classes for $200 or an unlimited monthly access for $100.

Warm Bar Flow Fusion single classes are $18 or 20 classes for $10 each in a 1o-week session. Drop-In Price are $18 per class.

Daniela recommends bringing your own yoga mat, water, hand towel and small two to three-pound hand weights.

Currently Daniela is offering 20 percent discount for all existing customers and New York City civil servants who purchase packages. There are no discounts for single classes.

Daniela’s Hot Yoga is located on the second floor of the Douglaston School of Music and Art at 44-33 Douglaston Parkway.

The local, fresh fruit and vegetable market was a worthwhile addition to Douglaston. Obviously, itRead More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

Unfortunately, according to the Douglas Manor Association, the fresh fruit and vegetable market willRead More NOT return this year. No specific reason was given other than this was at the initiative of the merchants or the market's organizers. And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
