Edward Alan Big & Tall to Close Plainview Location

The owners of the Edward Alan Big & Tall clothing shop have decided to consolidate their business under one roof in Commack and close their Plainview store.

"This was not an easy decision for us," said co-owner Edward Schlosser, who is in business with his brother, Alan. "It's been a good 17 years. We have a lot of wonderful customers. But, the realities of positioning our company for the years ahead and dedicate the necessary resources to our Commack location required us to make this difficult choice.”

The View Grill at the Glen Cove Golf Course will have its grand opening this Sunday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m.  The new restaurant will be run by owners of Page One in downtown Glen Cove.

Formerly Soundview Restaurant, which closed late last year, The View Grill will be operating under the auspices of Page One Restaurant, located on School Street, downtown.

“The View Grill will offer the level of menu and service that patrons at Page One have come to expect of us,” said Chef Jeanine DiMenna, co-proprietor at Page One.

Austin Jeans Going Out Of Business

Austin Jeans will shut its doors permanently next month after 21 years on Forest Hills' commercial strip.

The store, located at 70-38 Austin Street, is currently holding blowout sales on all of its merchandise.

An employee at the store said the store, which opened in 1992, would close in two or three weeks.
