Bites Nearby: La Baraka

A fine French restaurant with a Little Neck ZIP.

If you live in Little Neck, but haven’t been to yet, then you’re really missing out.

Now celebrating 32 years in business, La Baraka serves up fine French food with a pinch of Moroccan spice in a quaint intimate setting that’s reasonably priced and absolutely delicious.

And with the best couscous this side of the Cross Island, it’s no wonder that La Baraka became a Little Neck Patch favorite.

This Little Neck locale offers an old-fashioned menu with Escargots de Bourgogne, Canard à l’orange (half duck roasted and served with orange sauce), filet mignon au poivre (filet mignon broiled and served with crushed black pepper in a brandy cream sauce) and much, much more.

Those looking to sample something that’s really incredible simply must try the Couscous Royal, featuring semolina that is steamed and then served with flank, lamb, chicken, vegetables in season, chickpeas seasoned with cumin, and Merguez (homemade sausage made with Tunisian lamb and beef).
