French cuisine with a taste of North Africa

Valentine's Day might have just passed, but that doesn't mean you can't treat your Valentine to another romantic evening. And with the Twilight Dinner Menu at  on Northern Boulevard in Little Neck, you can treat that special someone twice this week without going over budget. 

Featuring moules provencales (mussels sautéed with garlic and parsley), Bœuf bourguignon, sole provençale (Filet of sole with peppers, tomato and onions), truite almondine (Trout sautéed with almonds and lemon), or poulet à la moutarde (Half chicken roasted bathed in a Dijon sauce), La Baraka's Twilight Dinner Menu is an epicurean delight.

At $26.95 per person diners can feast on salad, choice of appetizer, entree and dessert — all from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., Sunday through Friday, and 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. on Saturdays.

For those of you who don't want to box yourself into a prix-fixe, La Baraka's menu also offers a wide assortment of classic French dishes boasting a North African flair, such as merguez (Tunisian lamb and beef sausage) for $7.95, côte de veau aux oignons (veal chop broiled and served with bacon and sautéed onions) at $34.95, or the French classic canard à l'orange (half-roasted duck with orange sauce) for $27.95.
