Bites Nearby: Grimaldi's Pizza

A little slice of Brooklyn with a Douglaston Little Neck ZIP.

Craving pizza—why not give a try?

The food is good, the location is right, and the menu comes with a hearty list of toppings that offer much more than just pepperoni and sausage.

Like pesto, oven roasted sweet red peppers, capers and cured black olives.

Grimaldi's in Douglaston also features a coal-fired oven specially designed and built by hand, which burns anthracite to deliver unique flavor not possible from wood-burning or gas ovens.

Combine this with Grimaldi's freshly made dough, mozzarella and crushed San Marzano tomatoes, and you get one of the best pizzas in northeast Queens.

First timers should try one of Grimaldi's renowned semi-thin crust pizza with fresh mozzarella, sliced tomato and basil or a white pie with ham, mozzarella, fresh minced garlic and ricotta cheese.

But be sure to bring cash because Grimaldi's doesn't accept credit.

Grimaldi’s is located next to the new in Douglaston plaza and is open Sunday through Thursday noon to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday noon to 11 p.m.
