Avon Training Center Opens at Former First Edition Site
Training and recruitment center replaces long-time sports bar on Bell Boulevard.
An Avon training and recruitment center has opened at the long vacant site that formerly housed sports bar First Edition on Bell Boulevard.
The Avon center, located at 41-08 Bell Blvd. in Bayside, opened its doors in mid-August.
"It's mainly for demonstrations," district sales manager Lina Salazar said. "We'll have sales meetings here. The representatives can come and see the products."
Salazar said Avon is only occupying the building's bottom floor and that the second floor, which was also part of First Edition, remains vacant.
The training center will represent Avon for Bayside, Whitestone, Flushing and Queens Village.
First Edition closed in 2009 after having operated in the community for 61 years.
