10 Places You Didn’t Know Were Open on Christmas

Chinese and a movie has its appeal.

Don't feel like staying home on Christmas? Put on your weather boots, and saunter on out.

College Point Multiplex
28-55 Ulmer St., College Point

You can also see "The King's Speech" with Colin Firth and "Rabbit Hole" with Nicole Kidman open at this local art house cinema on Christmas Day. As an added bonus, see if you can spot the local sights during "Rabbit Hole," which was shot on location in Douglaston and Bayside, with interiors filmed at, among other places, Pappazzio Restaurant on Bell Blvd.

Kew Gardens Cinemas 

81-05 Lefferts Boulevard

This local favorite Chinese restaurant is open on Christmas Day for their normal hours. No reservations are required.



208-06 Cross Island Parkway, Bayside

Have a hankering for a pastrami sandwich and a potato latke? Ben's can take care of that, open their normal hours on Dec. 25.

211-37 26th Ave, Bayside

Don't have a Netflix account? Blockbuster Video is open from noon to 10 p.m. on Christmas Day. You can rent anything from your favorite holiday classic to even the newest releases.

213-04 Northern Blvd., Bayside 

This restaurant, which specializes in seafood, is open from noon to 10 p.m., and will add a Christmas Day special of roast turkey to their regular menu. Reservations are recommended.

 

215-16 Northern Blvd, Bayside

No reservations are required for a Christmas afternoon/evening meal at this Japanese and hibachi steakhouse restaurant. Okinawa is open from 2 p.m. to midnight, with special lower menu prices.

 

39-28 Bell Blvd, Bayside

This local diner will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., perfect for a pre-or-post Christmas mass meal.



212-97 26th Ave, Bay Terrace

In the mood for ribs? This steakhouse and seafood restaurant will be open for normal business hours, 11 a.m. to midnight, on Christmas Day, serving their regular menu.
