Nickerson Beach

If you want a bit of serenity, Nickerson Beach has clean, powdery sand and isn’t nearly as crowded as Jones Beach—so you can dine and sunbathe without being stepped on.

With picnic tables nestled in acres of greenery, you’d never know you were in the middle of Queens at this Douglaston location.

 

Flushing Meadows Corona Park

This sprawling park is a twofer- you can barbeque or share pre-packed sandwiches, and then hop on over to the Queens Museum, which is inside the park.

 

Little Bay Park

You’ll have a view of the Throgs Neck Bridge, the Long Island Sound, and not much else. This is a romantic location ideal for snuggling, because it isn’t highly trafficked.
