'The Dark Knight Rises' Opens Tonight

Mega-blockbuster starts screening tonight in Douglaston and Bayside.

The much-ancipated, mega-hyped "The Dark Knight Rises" makes its debut on screens in northeast Queens with several post-midnight shows.

The film, which is the third in director Christopher Nolan's brooding comic book trilogy, will play tonight at both and Douglaston's .

Loews Bay Terrace 6 has screenings at 12:01 a.m., 12:02 a.m., 12:03 a.m., 12:04 a.m. and 12:05 a.m., while Movie World is offering shows at midnight, 12:01 a.m. and 12:05 a.m.

Managers said tickets for the shows are still available, but that they would likely sell out.

Rotten Tomatoes's score for the picture is currently at 86 percent positive. However, a handful of critics panned the film, leading to an onslaught of profanity-laced comments and threats from Batman fans. The site eventually decided to close its comment section for the film.
