Teresa Giudice Doesn't Do Italian Heritage Month

The Real Housewives of New Jersey Star says she celebrates being Italian every day.

Italian Culture Month isn’t Part of Teresa Giudice’s heritage.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star was in Great Neck, Long Island on Wednesday, signing copies of her cookbook, Fabulicious!: Teresa's Italian Family Cookbook.

Asked if she celebrates New Jersey’s Italian-American Heritage Month, so designated, according to NorthJersey.com, by New Jersey Mayor Jon Corzine in 2009, she said hadn’t heard of it. October has also been so designated in New York for decades, and was nationally by President Obama for the year 2010.

“I observe Italian every day,” the Italian-American mom of four said.

Federation of Italian-American Organizations of Queens Vice President, Jerry Iannece, was not put off by her lack of awareness.

“The extent of her ethnicity is the fact that there’s a vowel at the end of her name,” Iannece, who hails from Bayside Hills, said of Giudice.  “Aside from the fact that she’s on this show, she’s done nothing for Italian culture,” he added.

Iannece is admittedly not a fan of the RHONJ program, believing it propogates negative stereotypes of Italian-Americans.

On questions about her reality TV employer, Bravo, Giudice also didn’t have much to expound upon.

Asked about her feelings about the dismissal of Jill Zarin and Alex McCord from the Real Housewives of New York franchise, only said, “I really don’t have a comment on that.”

About a reported falling out between Giudice and fellow New Jersey costar, Jacqueline Laurita, as reported by US Weekly, Giudice asked readers to “remember, there’s always two sides to every story.”
