National Art League Celebrates Children's Exhibition

Douglaston gallery hosts reception for annual show that displays work by local children.

The National Art League held a reception on June 9 for its annual Children's Exhibition.

A total 27 young artists, ranging in age from 9 to 13 years, contributed more than 70 pieces of artwork that they created during the past year. The league handed out awards to the winners at last weekend's reception.

Obviously, it…Read More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.
