THE EDNA PROJECT: Jazz/Fol/Visual Art Performance of the Poems of Edna St. Vincent Millay

Douglaston Concerts First Sunday Series at the Community Church of Douglaston is hosting a wonderful musical program called The Edna Project on Sunday, November 6th at 4pm. It is a jazz-folk visual art performance based on the poems of Edna St.Vincent Millay, and it features musicians Liz Queler and Seth Farber and their son Joey Farber. They have created an eclectic, imaginative collection of songs spanning folk, bluegrass, rock and jazz. Their music reveals the romance and emotion in Millay’s poetry while providing the audience with a wonderful and unique performance style.

Liz Queler is a native New Yorker and the daughter of renowned opera conductor Eve Queler. Her voice and compositions have been heard on countless jingles as well as TV and film soundtracks and she has won the prestigious Billboard "Songwriting Achievement Award" twice.

Seth Farber was musical director to the late Odetta, producing three CD’s, two of which were nominated for Grammys. He was also assistant conductor at the Broadway musical “Hairspray”. Both Liz and Seth have toured with Grammy nominated children's rock band "Brady Rymer and the Little Band That Could." Along with their son, Joey, they were featured on Rosie O'Donnell's HBO special "A Family is a Family Is A Family."
