Join us for a night of satire, comedy and the right to be funny! The event will feature some of the nation's top comedians, journalists, and authors, including Aasif Mandvi (comedian, actor & correspondent for "The Daily Show"), Jeff Kreisler (author and comedian), Joe Garden (Editor of The Onion) , Andy Levy (humorist and commentator, Fox News "Red Eye"), Allison Silverman (former head writer, "The Colbert Report") and Katya Kronhaus (Deputy Editor, Bolshoi Gorod, Moscow and 2011 Paul Klebnikov Civil Society Fellow) . NPR's John Hockenberry (co-host ,"The Takeaway," WNYC) will be master of ceremonies.

On Wednesday, May 4th, Carolines on Broadway will host a comedy cafe of skits and lively conversation about the use of humor in journalism, called "Laughter and Chains: Is Russia Funny?." The program will benefit The Paul Klebnikov Fund. Named after Paul Klebnikov, the American-born first editor of Forbes Russia who was assassinated in Moscow in 2004, the Fund which hosts Russian journalists in New York, enabling them to meet with their peers, work and write on subjects of interest and improve their use of Western-style reporting techniques.
Join us at 6:00 PM for drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Program 6:45 -8:00 PM. The program starts promptly at 6:45 PM.
