Hafla for Horses
Join us on the evening of March 10th for the Hafla for the Horses - a bellydance fundraising event to benefit the Pyramid horses of Egypt.
Due to the recent revolution and political instability in Egypt, the number of tourists visiting the ancient sites has dropped dramatically. There has been much talk about the devastating effect this has had on the people of Egypt, but few mention the effects on Egypt's other residents, the animal residents. Particularly the Pyramid horses - horses that worked tirelessly bringing tourists out to see the Pyramids, day in and day out. Many of these horses were in poor health to begin with, but now that there is no money, and no food, the conditions for these amazing animals are dire and their situation is desperate.
Our Hafla for the Horses will raise money that will go directly to the horses in need. All donations will be sent to Marte, Narieda, Shereif, and the rest of the rescuers working with Prince Fluffy Kareem and his friends. These dedicated people have rescued several horses from the brink of death, and are working to bring food, modern medicine and education to all of the Pyramid horses and their owners. This money will go a long way to help them continue to care for the horses in their stable and hopefully make room for more. Doors will open at 7:00 and the show will begin at 7:30. Tickets are a suggested donation of $10 each (and there will be opportunities to donate more that night, if you would like!). You can buy tickets at the door, or by following this link:

Our hafla is open to all and will include all levels of dancers - it will be a fun night full of positive energy and bellydance!
