Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Jewish Food, with Author, Chef and Rabbi Gil Marks
The Authors@GNL series is pleased to welcome author, chef, historian and rabbi Gil Marks, who will lead a special Hanukkah program celebrating the inspiring and satisfying world of Jewish food. Gil will talk about his book, Encyclopedia of Jewish Food, a comprehensive, fascinating popular history/cookbook. "To the Jewish people, food is more than just nourishment; it is an expression of their history, culture, and values - the glue that holds family and community together." Refreshments will be served. Copies of Encyclopedia of Jewish Food will be sold and signed by the author. The program is free, but Great Neck residents will be given preference for seating. Residents will be asked to show a library card or other ID that confirms residency. Non-residents will be seated 10 minutes before the program begins.
